Zondoma: The Apostolic Nuncio to Burkina Faso and Niger blesses the Christian community of Maria-Taw. The parish of Our Lady of Peace of Maria-Taw, in the commune of Koper, welcomed, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Apostolic Nuncio to Burkina Faso and Niger, Monsignor Eric Soviguidi, as part of a pastoral visit.

According to Burkina Information Agency, upon his arrival, the Apostolic Nuncio was welcomed by the parish priest, Father Denis Aim Dabir, and many faithful who had gathered for the occasion. Speaking to the congregation, the priest recounted the history, foundations, and operation of the parish of Our Lady of Peace in Maria-Taw. He indicated that this parish gave rise to the parish of Memer.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Dibougou, His Excellency Monsignor Kusil Der Rapha«l Dabir, introduced the Apostolic Nuncio to the parishioners and explained the importance of this visit, which he presented as a sign of the spiritual closeness and solicitude of Pope Leo XIV towards the authorities of both countries and the Churches.
