Ouagadougou: The Regional Directorate of Industry, Trade and Crafts of Nando (DRICA-Nando), in collaboration with the Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade of Tnado, has intensified their price and quality control operations in the localities of Zamo and Koualio in Sangui Province. This operation, conducted from September 10 to 17, 2026, resulted in the closure of several sales outlets and the seizure of large quantities of prohibited products.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation aimed to clean up marketing channels and protect consumers by targeting unscrupulous traders. DRICA-Nando, along with the National Gendarmerie, focused their efforts on tracking down fraud, repressing illegal commercial practices, and ensuring strict compliance with regulated prices for consumer goods.

The outcome of this operation revealed multiple violations, including non-compliance with the fixed price structure and the sale of expired and prohibited goods. As a result of these regulatory breaches, inspection services took precautionary measures, leading to the closure of several offending retail outlets.

In addition to shutting down these outlets, a significant quantity of goods deemed unfit for consumption or prohibited from entering the market was seized for destruction. Regional director Sibou Sou emphasized the importance of these efforts, stating that his teams are committed to protecting public health and ensuring a healthy and fair business climate throughout the region.
