Mogtdo:Members of a citizen watch group in Mogtdo organized a cleanup operation on Monday at the local Medical Center to help prevent dengue and malaria.According to Burkina Information Agency, the volunteers, equipped with gloves, rakes, and machetes, focused on clearing weeds from the medical center grounds and its surroundings. This initiative aims to improve the healthcare facility's environment and diminish mosquito breeding conditions.The president of the citizen watch of Mogtdo, Harouna Kabor, emphasized the importance of addressing unsanitary conditions, noting that the commune is among those affected by dengue. He stressed that the fight against dengue and malaria is a community-wide concern, as it affects residents' families directly.The cleanup effort included participation from the women's association and members of the citizen watch group from Ndego, who supported their counterparts in Mogtdo. Harouna Kabor highlighted that preventing vector-borne diseases requires more than just health wor kers' efforts; it also necessitates regular maintenance of living spaces.At the conclusion of the event, Kabor expressed gratitude to the participants and supporters of the initiative, acknowledging the cooperation from the medical center's management and Mogtdo's administrative and traditional authorities. The citizen watch group plans to continue such actions to enhance living conditions and prevent diseases within the community.
