Ouagadougou:Boulkiemd©/Poa: The village of Yargo-Yarc in the commune of Poa held a day of excellence on Saturday to honor top-performing students and recognize the dedication of education stakeholders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event brought together parents, village residents, teachers, educational officials, and several guests. The Yargo-Yarc Village Development Committee (CVD), led by Seni Sana, praised the community's participation and congratulated the students on their achievements. The committee emphasized the importance of unity for the village's development.
Omar Sana, the school council chairman, applauded the efforts of students and teachers, while expressing gratitude to parents for their ongoing support despite challenges in organizing general meetings. As part of the celebrations, two bicycles were awarded to the first students passing the CEP exam: Zoungrana S. Hamed for boys and Sana Rabiatou for girls. The winners also received school bags and kits.
Certificates of recognition and Kokodonda loincloths were presented to teachers for their dedication. A special certificate was awarded to Dsir Rouamba, head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Poa, for his unwavering support.
Yamogo W. Kaleb, headmaster of Yargo-Yarc Primary School, announced that 32 candidates sat for the CEP exam, with 26 advancing to the 6th grade. He expressed gratitude to villagers for their support and commended both students and teachers.
Ousmane Sana, representing the Yargo-Yarc Civil Servants and Students Association, acknowledged the contributors and congratulated the principal for maintaining a 100% success rate in the CEP over the past five years. He encouraged parents to enhance their children's study support.
Dsir Rouamba praised the parents' efforts in securing birth certificates for their children and advocated for the use of locally produced school uniforms. He also announced that first-grade students will now receive instruction in Moor©, with French as a complementary language, thanks to recent teacher training.
