Koubri:The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Koubri, Comrade Samad Lonard Gougou, has distributed 270 bags of maize, each weighing 25 kg, to representatives from 26 villages within the commune. This initiative, aimed at assisting vulnerable people and internally displaced persons (IDPs), was carried out on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the maize was harvested from a six-hectare community field cultivated during the previous agricultural season. The distribution event occurred at the new Koubri town hall, where the presidents of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) received the supplies on behalf of their communities.

PDS Samad Lonard Gougou emphasized that this distribution represents "an act of solidarity and sharing towards people going through difficult times." He called for transparency and fairness in the redistribution process to ensure that the intended recipients benefit from the collective efforts.

The event also included the handover of two storage units to the Village Land Commissions (VLCs). These units are intended for archiving and storing financial documents, enhancing the traceability and management of the commissions' activities.

Comrade Nazaire Compaor, speaking on behalf of the VDC presidents, expressed gratitude for the delegation's initiative. He pledged to ensure a fair and transparent distribution across the villages to support their vulnerable populations.

The expansion of the community field, from five hectares in 2024 to seven hectares in 2026, highlights a commitment to enhancing local agricultural production. This growth aims to bolster solidarity, resilience, and social cohesion within the community.

Through this initiative, the municipality seeks to strengthen local mutual aid mechanisms and provide tangible support to vulnerable households, reinforcing community governance and cooperation.
