Workshop Held in Bobo-Dioulasso to Promote New Land Law

Bobo-Dioulasso:A regional workshop was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance through the Directorate General of Territorial Development, in collaboration with the Project to Support the Strengthening of Land and Mines Management (PARGFM), to promote Law No. 015-2025/ALT on Agrarian and Land Reorganization.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the workshop, held on Friday, September 25, 2026, aimed to help stakeholders understand and adopt the new provisions of the law, which was enacted on October 21, 2025. This initiative is part of a communication plan for 2025-2027 focused on spreading awareness of the law across Burkina Faso, especially in five regions.

The Governor of the Guiriko region, Mariama Konat©/Gnanou, underscored the critical role of land in society and the economy. Through a message read by the Secretary General of the Guiriko region, Souleymane Nakanabo, she highlighted that the workshop was an opportunity for stakeholders to appreciate the benefits of the agrarian and land reform.

Moussa Zongo, Regional Director of Economy and Planning for Guiriko, stated that the workshop aims to inform stakeholders in Burkina Faso, and especially those in the Guiriko region, about the content of the new law. The discussions are expected to gather recommendations to enhance the law's implementation.

Participants recommended translating the law into national languages to improve its accessibility and understanding among the population. PARGFM has provided technical and financial support throughout the development of the new law, including the recruitment of firms and support for validation workshops.

The dissemination workshops are also being held in the Nakamb©, Kuils©, Nazinon, and Nando regions, furthering the implementation of the new legal framework.
