Ouagadougou:Houet The values of loyalty, audacity, courage, patriotism, and sacrifice embodied by Ti©fo Amoro were highlighted as guiding principles for trainee officers at the Staff College of the Ti©fo Amoro Higher Military Education Institute (IEMS-TA) during a conference on September 23, 2026. This session aimed to inspire future military leaders by showcasing the life and achievements of this historical military figure.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference allowed trainees to gain deeper insight into Ti©fo Amoro's career and contributions, which were presented as valuable lessons for the Defense and Security Forces and for society at large.
Dr. Harouna Ouattara, the conference speaker, emphasized the rich lessons in leadership from Ti©fo Amoro's story. He stressed that true leadership requires courage and audacity in the face of risks, while maintaining honor, dignity, and patriotism.
Commander Karim Souabo, a trainee officer, expressed that the event provided a clearer understanding of Ti©fo Amoro's life and achievements, which were previously unknown to many of the trainees. He highlighted the importance of imparting these lessons to young soldiers and officers engaged in the fight against terrorism.
Colonel Major C©leste Joseph Moussa Coulibaly, the commandant of IEMS-TA, explained that the conference aimed to bring attention to a significant historical figure. The decision to name the institute after Ti©fo Amoro reflects the importance of his legacy, underscoring values such as loyalty, audacity, and sacrifice in defense of the nation.
The conference encouraged trainee officers to draw inspiration from notable military figures of Burkina Faso and Africa, especially in the context of combating terrorism. Participants were urged to integrate these values into their professional conduct, thus enhancing commitment, discipline, and a sense of duty within the Defense and Security Forces.
