Diapangou Commune Focuses on Budget and Tax Revenue Improvements

Diapangou:The third ordinary session of the Diapangou commune was held, with a focus on improving tax revenue collection and preparing the initial budget for 2027. Jean Youma, President of the special delegation, led the session on September 25, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session reviewed and adopted three draft resolutions. These resolutions included revisions to the tax on advertising panels, taxes for cultural, religious, and promotional sales events, and rental rates for municipal stores.

Another key discussion centered on the Budgetary Orientation Debate in preparation for the next session, which will focus on adopting the initial budget for 2027. Representatives from the Gourma provincial tax office praised the progress made in tax collection and encouraged the exploration of new income sources.

Proposals from tax technicians included exploiting new tax avenues such as slaughter and meat health inspection taxes. They recommended hiring a dedicated collector and strengthening ties with the local veterinary service to enhance these efforts.

The session also addressed amending the minutes from the previous extraordinary session and reviewing the General Affairs committee's activities. Proceedings began with a minute of silence in memory of the first vice-president of the special delegation, who passed away on September 13, 2026.

All resolutions under consideration were unanimously adopted by the delegates. President Jean Youma expressed gratitude for the delegates' commitment and acknowledged the support from the municipal treasurer and the Gourma provincial tax office.
