Dori:Representatives from both Christian and Muslim communities gathered in Dori to pray for peace, security, and social cohesion in Burkina Faso during the Night of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event began with Father Jean-Pierre Sawadogo, who is responsible for general affairs for the diocese and serves as a parish priest, offering a prayer and blessing the celebration held in Dori's multipurpose hall.
El Hadj Ciss Amadou Hamidou, a representative of the Muslim community, followed with expressions of hope for peace and social cohesion for the people of Burkina Faso.
The prayers were attended by the governor of the Liptako region, various government officials, and a large crowd. Religious representatives used this occasion to express their hopes for the return of peace and security, as well as to promote stronger cohesion among the population.
The event also marked the fourth anniversary of Captain Ibrahim Traor©'s rise to power on September 30, 2022. Following the prayers, the RPP Night continued with a festive atmosphere, featuring musical and cultural performances by local groups such as Bilital and Keltamachek.
