Kongoussi Hosts Grand Celebration for RPP’s Fourth Anniversary

Kongoussi:Several thousand people gathered from Wednesday night into Thursday at the central roundabout of Kongoussi to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was attended by local authorities, including the High Commissioner of Bam, Karim Oudraogo, who praised the large turnout and urged the community to uphold the ideals of the Revolution. Oudraogo emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast supporters of the Revolution, which he described as progressing toward inevitable victories.

The celebration featured artistic performances and tributes to the Defense and Security Forces. The High Commissioner also pointed out national achievements, such as the inauguration of Burkina Faso's gold refinery, Rafinaor-BF, as a highlight in the industrial sector.

Various provincial directors presented initiatives across different sectors. Naba Ilboudo, the director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education, announced the reopening of about forty schools by October 1, 2026. In the health sector, Dr. Arzouma Idrissa Oudraogo discussed the operationalization of the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (RAMU). Agriculture director Basba Yanogo highlighted the development of lowland rice fields and support for the agropastoral offensive.

The evening continued with performances from over twenty artists, including DJ Moor and Souleymane Girma, with festivities lasting until around 3 a.m.
