Banzon:The people of Banzon gathered on the night of September 30, 2026, to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Popular Progressive Revolution. The event was organized by the Communal Coordination of Citizen Vigilance.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the celebration included residents from various local areas coming together as part of activities marking Captain Ibrahim Traor's four years as head of state.
Adama Traor, the spokesperson for the community watchdog, highlighted the progress made in Banzon over the past four years. Key achievements include the construction of a major bridge, the rehabilitation of the water supply for the Banzon rice-growing plain, building storage facilities and offices, and the refurbishment of the municipal market and the Bobo-Dioulasso-Banzon road.
These developments have been significant in improving living conditions and boosting the municipality's economic activities. During the event, participants reiterated their dedication to the principles of sovereignty, local development, and national solidarity.
The community also showed their support for the authorities' initiatives to advance the country's development and peace restoration. The festivities, which started at 9 pm, featured cultural performances, awareness messages, and appeals for unity and civic engagement.
