Ganzourgou Province Hosts Annual Educational Conference for Teachers

Zorgho:The annual pedagogical conference for preschool and primary school educators and teachers in Ganzourgou Province was officially inaugurated by Harouna Karambiri, the Secretary General of the province. The event took place at the Zorgho Youth Centre, with notable attendees including Nobila Clestine Zagr/Zoungrana, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education, and Raogo Jean Claude Oudraogo, the Head of the basic education district of Zorgho.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference began with a welcoming address from Naba Yemd of Bougr, the first vice-president of the special municipal delegation, who represented the President of the Special Delegation of the municipality of Zorgho. The event is a platform for capacity building and the harmonization of educational practices, aiming to improve teaching and learning.

This year's conference focuses on two main themes. The primary theme is "the development and exploitation of integration situations," while the secondary theme addresses "the decolonization of knowledge and the endogenization of curricula for teaching history, geography, and civic and moral education." The goal is to enhance teachers' abilities to design and implement integration situations that encourage students to apply their knowledge to practical situations.

The minister emphasized the importance of incorporating Burkina Faso's socio-cultural realities, historical heritage, languages, and values into the learning process. Participants are encouraged to master the techniques for developing and correcting integration situations and to understand the decolonization of knowledge within the curriculum.

The conference also highlighted the educational achievements of the previous school year, including a record success rate of 95.23% in the Primary School Certificate (CEP), credited to the dedication of educators and supervisors. As the conference proceeds until October 10, attendees will engage in presentations, group work, and practical exercises, with a focus on implementing insights gained into their teaching methodologies.
