Zorgho:Education stakeholders in the Zorgho Basic Education District (CEB) participated in an awareness session organized by the Directorate of Legal Affairs and Litigation (DAJC) of the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN). The session aimed to enhance the management of complaints and reduce administrative disputes through the Customer Service Unit (USC).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held alongside the annual Pedagogical Conference of Preschool and Primary School Teachers. It gathered various stakeholders to discuss mechanisms for managing complaints and preventing disputes within the ministry.
Nobila Clestine Zagr/Zoungrana, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Ganzourgou, emphasized the USC's role in improving administrative governance. She highlighted its framework for receiving complaints and resolving disputes amicably.
Participants were encouraged by Comrade Zagr/Zoungrana to engage actively in the discussions to share experiences and enhance the public education service's quality. Lamoussa Bamogo, a mission officer with MEBAPLN, stressed the importance of familiarizing education system actors with the USC to promote accountability and dialogue between the administration and users.
He noted that the USC, originating from a project launched in 2016, remains relatively unknown after eight years. This session was seen as necessary to improve understanding and use of the complaints mechanism.
The meeting featured two presentations. Kiswendsida Daouda Sawadogo, head of the legal monitoring service, explained the USC and its complaint management procedures. Abdoulaye Konat led a presentation on litigation management and prevention at MEBAPLN. These presentations and subsequent discussions aimed to clarify points of confusion and improve complaints handling in the educational context.
