Ziou:The Ziou territorial gendarmerie brigade in Nahouri province held a sports and awareness day aimed at strengthening social cohesion and improving relations between the fighting forces and the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and featured a popular cross-country run covering a distance of 5 km. Participants included members of the Defense and Security Forces, Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, public servants, and civilians, all walking together in a spirit of unity. The activities concluded with a collective aerobics session in the brigade courtyard.

Chief Warrant Officer Soihanla Frank Yonli, the commander of the Ziou territorial gendarmerie brigade, highlighted that the initiative is part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation. The goal is to build trust and camaraderie between security forces and the community.

Yonli also addressed the audience on the risks associated with social media, emphasizing the potential threats to personal and national security stemming from irresponsible use. He encouraged civic responsibility, such as wearing helmets while riding motorcycles.
