Manga:Media professionals and communicators from the Nazinon region participated in immersion days on October 12 and 13, 2026, organized by the Grand Chancellery of Burkinabe Orders (GCOB). The event aimed to enhance their knowledge of state emblems and symbols, ensuring their appropriate use.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative was part of the second phase of the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC). Held at the Manga governorate's meeting room, the program sought to equip attendees with the necessary rules, terminology, and guidelines for using national symbols and honorary distinctions, including the sanctions for misuse.
Comrade A. Elie Dieudonné Kaboré, the technical advisor to the governor of Nazinon, presided over the opening ceremony. He commended the GCOB's efforts to provide essential knowledge to media professionals, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing civic values and a sense of statehood. He also encouraged participants to responsibly promote patriotic commitment and civic participation through their work.
Over the two days, Ilassa Hervé Romba, Chief of Staff of the Grand Chancellor of the Burkinabe Orders, and Ousmane Sawadogo, Director of Communication and Public Relations of the Grand Chancellery, conducted sessions on state emblems and symbols, as well as honorary distinctions. They highlighted the potential damage to the country's image and the credibility of media outlets from the misuse of terminology related to national symbols.
The trainers urged participants to exercise caution in designing communication materials, covering official events, and disseminating media content. By the end of the immersion, attendees, such as Nadine Zida, expressed a better understanding of state emblems, symbols, and the governing rules, enhancing their professional responsibilities in communication and media.
