Students Encouraged to Support ‘Made in Burkina’ Initiative

Soaw:The second phase of the 3rd edition of the Day of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) took place at the Soaw departmental high school, where students were urged to promote 'Made in Burkina' products.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event gathered various stakeholders, including the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), the Defense and Security Forces, and educational leaders, all focused on promoting local products and national sovereignty under the theme "All for Made in Burkina". The program featured a formal flag-raising ceremony and a message from Comrade Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso.

The headmaster of the school encouraged students to choose local dishes made by their families over imported items like rice, emphasizing that daily choices reflect support for local products. The message from the Head of State specifically targeted students as future leaders, urging them to adopt patriotic values and support the consumption of local goods.

Fousseni Sourabié, the Soaw PDS, reminded students of themes from previous editions and linked them to the current focus on local products. He encouraged students to engage actively in the development of national expertise through the promotion and production of local goods. He also highlighted the importance of discipline for academic success and urged students to uphold this value within school and society.

Environmental protection was also addressed, with students encouraged to participate in reforestation activities on school grounds, aligning with the call from the Comrade President of Burkina Faso. The initiative aims to enhance civic engagement and make the consumption of Burkinabe products a regular practice, contributing to the sovereignty of Burkina Faso.
