Bilingual Education Training for Teachers in Kalsaka

Kalsaka:Forty teachers and school directors have completed a two-week training program conducted by the Basic Education District (CEB) of Kalsaka 2. This program focused on teaching bilingual Moor to first-year students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training is part of the initiative to officially introduce the national language into the first-year curriculum. It follows previous experimental phases of bilingual education conducted last season, aiming to provide educators with the skills needed to integrate early learning with the students' socio-cultural context.

The gradual implementation of Moor in the early years is part of an educational reform to reduce the primary education cycle from six to five years. At the conclusion of the training session, supervisors commended the participants for their dedication and active engagement. The trained teachers expressed their readiness to embrace this educational challenge and their commitment to making bilingualism a tool for development and student success.
