Zondoma:The Lba 'A' public primary school in Zondoma province recently hosted a two-week training session focused on bi-multilingual teaching. This initiative targeted CP1 teachers and school directors from the commune of Lba, aiming to support the broader effort of generalizing bilingual education across Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training, which spanned 14 days, educated participants on a harmonized formula for bi- and multilingual education. It also included guidelines for transcribing Moor, the lingua franca of the Yaadga region. The closing ceremony took place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, led by Albertine Sawadogo, head of the Lba Basic Education District (CEB). She praised the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to diligently apply their newfound knowledge to ensure the success of the educational reform.
Oumarou Nacanabo, lead trainer and head of the non-formal education office, expressed satisfaction with the progress made. He noted that teachers and school administrators had successfully grasped the basics of Moor transcription and its teaching methodology, which are vital for implementing bilingual education effectively in their classrooms.
This initiative underscores the Burkinabe government's commitment to promoting national languages and aligning the education system with the socio-cultural realities of the country.
