Training for Bilingual and Multilingual Education Underway for Zondoma Teachers

Bassi:Zondoma A total of 43 teachers from the Basic Education Center (CEB) in Bassi are participating in training focused on bilingual and multilingual education.

According to Burkina Information Agency, school principals and teachers of CP1 classes in the Basic Education District of Bassi have been engaging in this two-week training session since October 12, 2026. The purpose of this training is to enhance capacity in bi-multilingual education.

The training has been decentralized into three Educational Support Zones—Bassi, Saye, and Kra-Dour—to optimize progress and reduce travel distances for participants. The educational supervisors are guiding discussions on modules related to transcription and the didactics of content in bi-plurilingual education.

Amidou Younga, Head of the District, urged participants to maintain rigorous attendance and to apply the newly acquired skills effectively in their classrooms. This approach aims to significantly improve the quality of student learning.

Upon completion of the session, CP1 principals and teachers will be ready to implement these new teaching methods when classes resume.
