Kouka:The Kouka town hall, in partnership with the Solenzo police station, organized a special operation from October 15 to 17, 2026, to issue biometric identity cards of the Confederation of Sahel States (CIB-AES). This effort was part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) and aimed to serve the residents of the municipality by facilitating access to identity documents.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation took place at the town hall and attracted a large number of men and women who came to register. An estimated 800 individuals were expected to participate in the events, which sought to bring administrative services closer to the public.
Raymond Ilboudo, president of the Kouka special delegation, commended the collaboration between the town hall and the police services, encouraging residents to obtain identity documents crucial for administrative procedures and exercising civic rights. Police Adjutant Bond Bagnamou emphasized the initiative's role in bringing police services closer to citizens and aiding in the issuance of identity documents.
Applicants for the card needed to be at least 13 years old, provide a certified birth certificate copy, and pay a processing fee of 3,500 CFA francs. Those with previous identity cards had to present a copy, while individuals born outside Burkina Faso were required to produce a nationality certificate copy.
Azèta Sawadogo, a beneficiary of the operation, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting its significance in making administrative services more accessible, thus reducing the need for long journeys to obtain identity cards.
