Final Tribute Paid to Ahandidia Onadja by AIB and Pama Town Hall

Tenkodogo:The Pama town hall and the Burkina Information Agency (AIB) paid their final respects on Saturday to Ahandidia Onadja, AIB's provincial correspondent for Kompienga, who passed away at the Tenkodogo Regional Hospital Center after a brief illness.

According to Burkina Information Agency, colleagues and relatives commemorated Onadja with a funeral oration and a delegation from the AIB's General Directorate attended the service. Onadja's dedication to professional and community life was fondly remembered.

Ahandidia Onadja, born on January 17, 1984, in Pama, began his career in the territorial public service at the Pama town hall as an office worker. He was appointed as the person responsible for public procurement in 2019 and served in that role until his death. Concurrently, he contributed to local journalism as AIB’s provincial correspondent for Kompienga.

Alphonse Sangli, representing the municipality, highlighted Onadja’s significant contributions to municipal administration and social initiatives. Known for his energy and commitment, Onadja was actively involved in youth work, communication, and volunteering with NGOs. His colleagues appreciated his humor and outspoken nature, often recalling his habit of giving colleagues nicknames.

The funeral was marked by traditional customs, with the Yaadss, joking relatives of the Gourmantchs, symbolically "selling" the tomb to Onadja's family for 4,650 CFA francs, adding a customary touch to the solemn occasion.

Onadja is survived by his wife and four children. His passing is a profound loss to his family and colleagues, who remember him as a dedicated public servant and community advocate. "May the free land of Burkina Faso rest lightly upon you," concluded Sangli in his tribute.
