APEC Urges Citizens to Join Popular Shareholding by October 31

Fada N'Gourma:Gourma The Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) is actively promoting its awareness and subscription campaign in Fada N'Gourma. This effort comes ahead of the October 31, 2026, deadline for the first phase of popular shareholding, as announced by Appolinaire Tankoano, the provincial coordinator in Gourma, on October 19, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, APEC's initiative, driven by the Presidency of Faso, seeks to encourage citizen involvement in financing and developing community enterprises. This allows individuals to become shareholders in national companies, contributing to Burkina Faso's economic growth.

The subscription phase, which began on June 12, 2023, has already facilitated the launch of three projects. These include two tomato processing units located in Bobo-Dioulasso and Tenkodogo, and a semi-industrial mining unit in Midebdo, situated in the South-West region. By subscribing before the deadline, citizens will acquire shares in these companies.

To subscribe, adults must submit a copy of their Burkinabe national identity card (CNIB), two passport photos, and a membership fee of 5,000 FCFA. Each share is priced at 10,000 FCFA. For children, a birth certificate and two passport photos are required. Burkinabe citizens living abroad can use their CNIB or consular card for the process.

Those interested are encouraged to visit the APEC provincial office in Fada N'Gourma to complete their subscriptions before the October 31, 2026, deadline.
