Lottery Draw Recruits 20 Samplers for Houndé Gold Mine

The Monitoring and Liaison Committee of Endeavour Mining in Tuy province conducted a lottery to recruit 20 samplers for the Houndé Gold Operation (HGO) mine. The event took place on November 1, 2026, at the High Commission square in Houndé.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the recruitment process attracted 673 applicants, comprising 91 Project Affected Persons (PAPs) and 582 non-PAP candidates. The established quota reserved eight positions for PAPs and 12 for non-PAPs, with additional waiting lists of four PAPs and six non-PAPs.

Diémavé Hakiékou, chairman of the subcommittee for recruitment of unskilled workers and training, noted the smooth progression of the draw, emphasizing its transparency and fairness. Hakiékou highlighted that the candidates drew their own numbers, ensuring equal chances for all participants. He also acknowledged the support from the Defense and Security Forces and the organizing team, urging selected candidates to exhibit dedication at the mining site.

The successful candidates will undergo a literacy test at HGO for their final admission. Hakiékou encouraged those not selected and expressed optimism about future job opportunities for young people.
