Banwa: Resilience celebrated at Solenzo through a Maracana

A football competition called "Maracana of resilience" was played in 24 hours in Solenzo, in the presence of the provincial authorities.

The managers of the Banwa athletic club organized this Saturday, July 29, a maracana football competition with 5 teams from the city of Solenzo.

Scheduled for the whole day on Saturday, the competition started around 12 noon, after a morning rain.

The kick-off was given by Patrice Tiendrebéogo, president of the Banwa athletic club.

All matches up to the semi-finals have been played.

The final was played on Sunday July 30, 2023 and opposed the team of '' Salitas FC '' in black and Veteran FC in blue.

The Sanaba PDS representing the High Commissioner of the province kicked off the final.

A 25-minute competition for each game in front of a huge crowd. The Dissankuy troupe wanted to accompany the competition with the balafonists and their dancers who brought the population into total joy.

The veteran team FC emerged victorious with a late goal.

She left with a trophy, a ball, t-shirts and a sum of 15,000 FCFA

The second prize, consisting of a ball, t-shirts and the sum of 10,000 f, went to ''Salitas FC''.

According to the president of the organizing committee Patrice Tiendrebéogo each team received a ball and t-shirts for their participation.

“The objective of this competition is to allow young people to flourish and also to bring the resilient population to have fun. We thank the authorities for their support, the FDS and also Doctor Boureima Konaté for the t-shirts for this edition,” concluded the president of the organizing committee.
