(Ouagadougou, August 02, 2023). The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE granted, this Wednesday afternoon, an audience to the Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Burkina Faso, Wolfram VETTER, at the end of assignment.
“I came to say goodbye to the President of the Transition. I am finishing my 4-year mandate in Burkina Faso”, declared the European diplomat who speaks of “a welcoming and warm people” concerning Burkina Faso.
On this occasion, the Head of the EU delegation in our country, who considers "Burkina Faso as a strategic country in the Sahel", reaffirmed the readiness of the European Union to work to strengthen "cooperation, especially on the security and defence" with our country. "It's in our mutual interest," he said.
According to Wolfram VETTER, the past 4 years have been marked by the humanitarian and security challenges facing Burkina Faso.
"I strongly hope that Burkina will succeed in this fight against terrorism and I hope that peace will soon return to Burkina Faso", wished the European diplomat.
