Yako, The special municipal delegation of Yako made effective on Thursday October 26, 2023, “the clean city operation” established by the Transitional Government, on the occasion of National Citizenship Week .
Menus of shovels, wheelbarrows , gangs and any other equipment that can be used for the collection and storage of garbage, these are two sites, namely the auto station and the site for the induction of customary chiefs who have been identified and stripped of their garbage by the authorities and members of the special municipal delegation of Yako.
“The clean city operation” brought together provincial authorities, members of the special municipal delegation of Yako and associative structures involved in the management of plastic waste in the province of Passoré (North).
This sanitation activity was decided in synergy by the population to make the said operation effective, as part of the 20th edition of National Citizenship Week (SENAC) which was held from October 23 to 27, 2023.
“Operation clean city” was established in the 13 regions of the country, with a view to cleaning up services and public places.
“The chiefs' induction site is historically and culturally sacred. And through the choice of this site, we wanted to mark our solidarity with the chiefdom and say thank you to them for what they do on a daily basis. », said the president of the special municipal delegation (PDS) of Yako, Maxime Bako.
According to the PDS, the sanitation operation once again reminds populations of their role in cleaning up their living environments.
Sanitation should be, according to Maxime Bako, a daily act in all households. This is why he also believed that the cleanliness of the city is the sum of everyone's health actions.
The Secretary General of the province (SGP), Noélie Béréhoumdougou/Kaboré said she came to support communities in the implementation of the “clean city operation”.
Ms. Béréhoumdougou maintained that this action is part of the commemoration of SENAC 2023 which began on Monday, October 23.
For the SGP, sanitation can help minimize the risks of spreading dengue, even if so far no cases of the disease have been reported in the locality.
It should be noted that the “clean city operation”, desired by the Transition government, was held in all of the 9 municipalities in the Passoré province under the auspices of special municipal delegations.
