Ouagadougou: The first edition of the Ziro fruit promotional day opened this Saturday in Sapouy, capital of the Ziro province, in the Center-West region, in the presence of the minister of State in charge of the Civil Service, Bassolma Bazié, reports the minister's communications service.Placed under the theme of 'production, sale and processing of fruits in a context of security crisis in the province of Ziro', this day is a showcase to promote fruits and galvanize producers and other players in the sector.The Minister of State, Minister of Civil Service, Labor and Social Protection, Bassolma Bazié, took part in the event to support fruit producers in particular. He also urged the population to support the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) so that by the end of 2024, there will no longer be talk of terrorism in Burkina Faso and that producers are more serene in their fields and orchards.The producers' representative, Norbert Bassolé indicated t hat the holding of this promotional day, in this context of security crisis, is proof of the resilience of the Burkinabè. According to him, the lack of market for the sale of production, the insufficiency of purchasing counters, the insufficiency and poor quality of agricultural inputs, the lack of high-speed drilling, the drying up of dams as well as the absence of a fruit and vegetable processing plant constitutes obstacles to fruit producers.'We are convinced that if these difficulties are resolved, we can double or even triple our agricultural production,' he said.A visit to the fruit and vegetable exhibition stands ended the ceremony of this edition.Source: Burkina Information Agency
