Bobo-Dioulasso: On the occasion of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the daily Sidwaya, the staff of the Western Regional Directorate (DRO) of Editions Sidwaya staged a show of colors on Friday 5 April 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso.Founded on April 5, 1984 under the National Council of the Revolution led by President Thomas Sankara, the newspaper Les Editions Sidwaya has been in existence for 40 years.In Bobo-Dioulasso, the staff of the Western Regional Directorate of Editions Sidwaya marked this ruby jubilee with a raising of the national colors, on Friday April 5, 2024.The Western Regional Director, Patinéma Oumar Ouédraogo, paid tribute to the predecessors who, he said, ensured that Sidwaya always held the torch high.He also praised all the staff for the mobilization, efforts and sacrifices made on a daily basis to enable the newspaper to fulfill its public service mission.The head of the Finance and Accounting Department of the DRO, Sermé Sitta, a former member of the common house, has been em ployed there since 1997.For her, this commemoration is a symbolic, salutary and meaningful act.She invited subscribers and different readers to always trust and read Sidwaya.'The newspaper of all Burkinabè people,' she explained, always provides reliable information.Alassane Nombré, another agent of the house, distributor of Sidwaya newspapers since October 14, 1986, enthusiastically retraced his journey in Sidwaya.The newspaper, he said, sold at the time for 75 CFA francs but today the same newspaper costs 300 CFA francs.According to him, Sidwaya has grown over time to now have several national representations.He expressed his gratitude for having spent his entire career serving Sidwaya.Source: Burkina Information Agency
