Summit of Heads of State of the AES: The President of Faso in Niamey

Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE is making a trip to Niamey in Niger this Friday, July 5, 2024, where he will take part in the summit of Heads of State of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) scheduled for this Saturday.The Heads of State of the AES member countries are meeting this Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the Nigerien capital for a summit devoted to the life of the Alliance and its consolidation.This very first summit will bring together delegations from the AES member countries of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso around issues and challenges common to the three states. Security and defense, the fight against terrorism, economic, cultural and commercial exchanges will constitute the essential points of this meeting at the AES summit.This meeting will also make it possible to consolidate cooperative relations between the three countries in a dynamic of pooling intelligence and means to initiate true peace in the AES area and promote inclusive development for the benefit of the peop les of the Sahel.The Alliance of Sahel States was established through the will of Presidents Ibrahim TRAORE of Burkina Faso, Assimi GOÏTA of Mali and Abdourahamane TIANI of Niger. It was materialized by the signing of the Liptako-Gourma Charter on September 16, 2023 by the three Heads of State.Source: Burkina Information Agency
