Led by the Regional Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Hauts-Bassins, Soilliou Karantao, the delegation presented a check for 3,454,985 CFA francs to the governor of the region, Mariama Konaté, on the morning of Friday 5 July 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso. This contribution, according to Mr. Karantao, aims to support the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the fight against terrorism. 'This initiative to contribute to the patriotic support fund was free and voluntary on the part of all the examiners, supervisors, jury presidents, invigilators as well as correctors of the 2024 session of the CEP in the region' , said regional director Karantao. Listening to him, this donation is a sign of support, commitment and belonging to the country. 'Everyone did what they could to support the FDS ,' added Soilliou Karantao. Mariama Konaté praised the gesture of the day. 'It was with pleasure that I received the educational body who came to make a very patriotic gesture ,' said the governor. She, on the occasion, expressed her thanks to the benefactors. The importance of the gesture, she said, is not linked to the amount, but rather to the people who made the gesture. 'These actors are responsible for the education of children and they are also examples for these children ,' she insisted. As a reminder, the educational actors in the Hauts-Bassins region are making their second contribution to the peace effort. For the first contribution, said Mr. Karantao, educational supervisors in the region had made a donation of 600,000 CFA francs.Source: Burkina Information Agency
