Ouagadougou: The populations of the village of Guelwongo, commune of Ziou, mobilized on Saturday July 20, 2024, to repair the main road of approximately 5 km, which crosses the village to the border of Ghana.This Saturday, July 20, 2024, was a day of great mobilization in the village of Guelwongo, in the commune of Ziou.Indeed, the populations mobilized to repair the main road which crosses the village.Several means (Benz trucks, tricycles, wheelbarrows, picks, shovels) were deployed to give a new face to this road which had been in an advanced state of degradation since the onset of the rainy season.From 8 a.m., old people, young people, women, customary and religious authorities, mobilized as one man to repair this road which crosses the village to the border of Ghana, approximately 5 km away and also the road which leads from the central market to the Guelwongo livestock market.The young people transported aggregates to fill the potholes and the elderly boosted the morale of the young people.Th e president of the Yiir Despite de Guélwongo association, initiator of the activity, Narcisse Sia, welcomed the support of the populations, especially the elderly and the customary and religious authorities.For him, this initiative is inspired by the President of Faso who called on every Burkinabè to invest in making Faso an exemplary country.Narcisse Sia, invited each son and daughter of Guélwongo to remain mobilized until the objective is achieved, namely repairing all the damaged roads in the village.Before the start of the work, the customary authorities blessed the day.Another date has been communicated for the continuation of the work>>, indicated Narcisse Sia.Source: Burkina Information Agency
