The delayed commemoration of International Youth Day in Kourittenga was held on Monday, August 26, 2024 in the commune of Gounghin, under the theme: "Youth, citizen monitoring and the fight against insecurity in Burkina Faso". It took place under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Kourittenga province, Fernand Wenceslas Yicinbalo N'Do.For forty-eight hours, a popular cross-country race, a conference, a reforestation session, were among other activities carried out by the Kourittenga provincial youth council.It was on the occasion of the delayed commemoration of International Youth Day, on Monday, August 26, 2024 in the commune of Gounghin.The celebration aims to broaden the circle of exchanges between young people and to arouse in young people commitment to development and the return of peace to Burkina Faso."It is an immense joy to see this mobilization of youth. I think that the youth have really understood the crucial role they must play but especially the importance of solidarity, l iving together in order to promote development," said the vice-president of the Kourittenga provincial youth council, Rémy Sandwidi.He urged the youth to always remain united for a more fulfilled Kourittenga.The secretary general of the Kourittenga province, Fernand Wenceslas Yicinbalo N'Do, representing the High Commissioner of the province, expressed his satisfaction with the holding of this day, given the mobilization of the population.He also invited the youth to unite and commit to the fight against insecurity in the country."I welcome these reforestation activities, the awareness conferences and many others carried out by the youth.
