As part of its Recovery and Resilience Program (P3R), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) handed over, during a ceremony, a batch of equipment to the Ouahigouya Vocational Training Center (CFPO), formerly ANPE. This was this Tuesday, August 28, 2024 in Ouahigouya, under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Northern Region, Issouf Ouédraogo.This donation is part of a programme to support regional training structures. The CFPO has thus received operational capacity building from the UNDP.Worth 44 million CFA francs for the Northern region, the donation consists of two educational vehicles, motorcycles and other equipment for the center's training workshops.Receiving the donation on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Governor of the Northern Region, Issouf Ouédraogo, accompanied by the regional director in charge of vocational training, Moussa Tassembédo, welcomed this gesture from the UNDP which is in line with the vision and concrete actions of the government in terms of capacity building for young people.The authority took the opportunity to invite all structures to join the dynamics of the UNDP and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment.Célestin Zongo, in charge of the P3R program at UNDP, stressed in his speech that, in the face of the crisis in Burkina Faso, the UN development agency stands alongside the government to make its contribution in terms of preparing communities for recovery."This initiative strengthens the operational capacities of the CFPO here, in the Northern region, in auto-motorcycle mechanics, sewing, electricity, solar energy, etc. We dare to hope that this support will allow learners to acquire solid skills that will make them seasoned and competitive professionals, ready to face the world of work," said Mr. Zongo.Source: Burkina Information Agency
