Ouagadougou: Both candidates for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, are "against life," Pope Francis said at a press conference on board a plane from Singapore, where he ended his apostolic trip to Southeast Asia and Oceania."Both are against life: the one who rejects migrants and the one who kills children," said the pontiff when asked about the advice he would give to a Catholic voter who would have to choose between two candidates, one in favor of abortion and the other in favor of the expulsion of migrants.'To expel migrants, not to give them a better life, not to allow them to develop, is a bad thing, a diabolical thing. To throw a baby out of its mother's womb is murder. We must be clear on this,' Francis continued. 'In modern politics, they say that not voting is wrong, and if you vote, you must choose the lesser evil, but which of them [Donald Trump and Kamala Harris] - everyone must choose according to their conscience,' the head of the Roman Catholic Church reco mmended.Francis has already indirectly condemned Trump for his policies toward migrants, saying that 'someone who builds walls cannot be considered a good Christian.' The pope is known to have had other disagreements with the former US president, notably on climate change, following Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord. Current Democratic President Joe Biden is a practicing Catholic but supports abortion rights. Trump and the majority of conservative Catholics who support him oppose abortion.Source: Burkina Information Agency
