The 2024-2025 school year has started in all establishments in the commune of Leo, in the province of Sissili. For the occasion, all stakeholders in the education system mobilized to make the 2024-2025 school year a success.It is a grand atmosphere on this morning of October 1, 2024 marking the resumption of classes in the commune of Léo, province of Sissili.Early in the morning, children accompanied by their parents or alone stormed the courtyard of the Kutian school in Léo, some in search of their class, some for the payment of school fees or for the registration of their offspring.In the schoolyard, the joy of seeing old friends again or of going back to school could be seen on some faces, while sadness and disorientation were evident among the newcomers who found themselves in a completely different world from their own.For the school's director, Chantal Ily, it is a total satisfaction in the sense that they received from the donors two brand new buildings with three classrooms each fully equipp ed with tables, benches, desks and cupboards and two blocks of latrines.According to Ms. Ily, these new infrastructures will allow them to split the Kutian school into two schools A and B."This is the place for me to express all the recognition and thanks of all the actors of the education system to the donors, particularly to the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT) for their contributions to improving the quality of education," she noted.The school principal added: "The tree should not hide the forest. We continue to ask people of good will to help us complete the fencing of the school grounds, the foundations of which were laid by the parents of students and the income-generating activities of women."Chantal Ily indicated that the minimum class size is 80 students and that is why we have two teachers per class.'PDI students are exempt from all fees, their registration is free,' she reassured.Mrs. lly finally wished a very good school year to all her colleges, especially health, prosperity an d much success.CE1 student Mouslim Kiemdé expressed his joy at returning to school."I don't want to stay at home, I come to school to learn my lessons and have fun with my classmates," he said.Source: Burkina Information Agency
