Yatenyoua Lucien Ouoba takes the reins of the Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Komondjari


Yatenyoua Lucien Ouoba, was installed as Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Komondjari on October 21, 2024 by the Secretary General of the province, representing the High Commissioner.

On Monday, October 21, 2024, the official installation of the new provincial director in charge of preschool, primary and non-formal education in Komondjari, Mr. Yatenyoua Lucien Ouoba, previously head of the Basic Education District of Gayéri, took place.

He replaces Mr. Boureima Sawadogo in this position, who headed this structure for eight (08) years, one (01) month and twenty-six (26) days.

The installation ceremony was held at the amphitheater of the Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of the East and was chaired by the Secretary General of the Komondjari province, representing the High Commissioner who was unable to attend due to scheduling constraints.

Before the handover and the official installation of the new provincial director, the outgoing dir
ector, Mr. Boureima Sawadogo, presented the actions he was able to carry out during his mandate at the head of the department and outlined the challenges to be met.

Among the achievements, the outgoing director was able to ensure the continuity of education despite a difficult security context thanks to the resilience of teachers and educational supervisors, the strengthening of the skills of teachers and administrative staff of the DPEPPNF on several themes.

We also note the maintenance of social dialogue with education stakeholders and partners through the organization of provincial days of excellence with the prize package, and the strengthening of the structure’s capacities.

The equipment of the CEBNF, using the DPEPPNF’s own funds, with sewing machines, weaving looms, women’s hairdressing equipment, as well as additional support in sewing machines from the commune of Gayéri, should be noted.

Added to this are the regular holding of bodies and meetings, fairly satisfactory results in the CEP school ex
ams, with a good regular ranking in the province, and the renovation of the DPEPPNF building.

As challenges, he mentioned strengthening the resilience of education stakeholders and partners, including the mobility of stakeholders, access to basic products, ‘Safe School’ training, personal safety and the dangers of explosive devices, securing educational structures and motivating stakeholders.

He also mentioned the continued improvement of access and retention indicators, the sustainability of the school canteen, support for internally displaced students, the reopening of certain closed schools in areas with high security challenges where the FDS are present such as in Foutouri and other schools in Gayéri, vocational training, the expansion of preschool through the opening of a second public Preschool Education and Awakening Center at the CEBNF in sector 5, as well as the continued construction of educational infrastructure and its equipment.

Speaking, the incoming director, Mr. Yatenyoua Lucien OUOBA, prai
sed the efforts of his predecessor and promised to “add soil to soil” to perpetuate the achievements.

He pledged to give his best to meet the challenges that lie ahead. It was at the end of these discussions that the new director was installed in his new position by the Secretary General of the province. Following this, the Regional Director in charge of education in the East gave advice to the incoming provincial director and wished the outgoing director a peaceful retirement.
