Namentenga: The members of the Wend Kouni association held their statutory general assembly on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Boulsa, where they reviewed the progress of projects funded by national and international partners. The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, recognized the significant impact of the Wend Kouni association on local development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, High Commissioner Adama Conseiga expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by the Wend Kouni association and its president, Dieudonn© Nonaba. He encouraged the association to strive for public utility recognition due to its work in enhancing the province's development. Mr. Conseiga also commended the association's efforts for the welfare of the local population.
During the general assembly, project managers presented the physical and financial outcomes of various initiatives. The presentations included details such as project names, partners, funding amounts, objectives, duration, target audiences, localities, implementing actors, and challenges faced. The projects focused on areas like internally displaced persons recovery, soil restoration, health, economic empowerment of women and youth, literacy, child protection, and vocational training.
Some project managers highlighted difficulties, including limited access to high-security risk areas and low recovery rates of training costs. Treasurer Marie Ima mentioned that out of nearly 284,500,000 in mobilized financing, approximately 80% of funds were utilized, noting that delayed financing hindered achieving full budget consumption.
Following the presentations of the year's activities, members discussed strategies for increasing the association's visibility. The president, pleased with the members' and project managers' dynamism, encouraged them to continue their efforts.
