NGOs ADRA and ANADI Launch Humanitarian Project in Kongoussi and Tikar©

Bam: The High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Ou©draogo, has announced the launch of a project named Life Saving (LISA) in Kongoussi. This initiative, spearheaded by the NGOs Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and the National Association for Action for Integral Development (ANADI), aims to bolster the resilience of over 45,000 vulnerable individuals in the municipalities of Kongoussi and Tikar©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the LISA project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and will be executed over 22 months. It will concentrate on food distribution, humanitarian assistance, access to water, hygiene, and sanitation through the rehabilitation of boreholes and disaster risk reduction. The project is valued at 800 million CFA francs.

The initiative targets host populations and internally displaced individuals in Kongoussi and Tikar©. Edmond Gu©, Director of ADRA Burkina Faso, emphasized the project's enduring commitment to human dignity, highlighting the collaborative nature of the initiative with the beneficiary communities.

ANADI Executive Director Sibiri Wenceslas Sawadogo noted that the project would directly impact at least 15,000 people among the 45,000 in the two municipalities. He explained that the choice of Kongoussi and Tikar© is strategic due to the significant number of internally displaced individuals they host.

Naba Tigr©, chief of Zitenga canton (Tikar©), acknowledged the project's potential to alleviate the communities' burdens, pledging community support for its successful implementation. High Commissioner Karim Ou©draogo assured ADRA and ANADI of the decentralized administration's full support in executing the project successfully.
