Gay©ri: On the occasion of Easter, the parish priest of Gay©ri, Father Abel OUALI, raised prayers for peace and security in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Father OUALI, during the Easter celebration, invited the newly baptized to embody the values of peace, love, and forgiveness. The ceremony was well-attended by Catholic faithful, alongside representatives from the Muslim and Protestant communities.
The central theme of the Easter message, the resurrection of Christ, was honored in a spiritually fervent atmosphere. The Mass included baptisms, serving as symbols of rebirth into a new life in Christ. In his homily, Father OUALI emphasized that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ form the cornerstone of the Christian faith.
"May the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ be for us lights of peace, love, and forgiveness. Jesus Christ died on the cross for the remission of our sins," he explained. He urged the faithful to adhere to Christ's commandments, asserting that solutions to problems and success in endeavors are rooted in the word of God. "We cannot be reborn with Christ without respecting his commandments. The Bible, properly used, guides us according to the circumstances of life," he elaborated.
The priest also called for divine protection for the fighting forces committed to securing the country. He concluded with a message of tolerance and solidarity, acknowledging the presence of other religious denominations who attended to show their support for the Catholic community.
