Ouagadougou: A football tournament to strengthen fraternity and social cohesion among teachers
The second edition of the Tougo Basic Education District Chief's Cup was launched on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. This initiative aims to strengthen the bonds of fraternity and cohesion between actors in the educational world. The launch ceremony was held on the communal grounds of Tougo, in the presence of educational supervisors, school directors, teachers from the commune as well as a large number of supporters. This football tournament brings together the extended family of teachers in the municipality in a friendly atmosphere, fostering exchange and strengthening community spirit.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event's organizer, Boureima Gansonr©, Head of the Tougo Basic Education District, stated that this initiative addresses a need for closer ties among public servants. "The goal of this activity is to unite the community's public servants in a spirit of fraternity and cohesion," he stated. "Beyond the sporting competition, this cup is an opportunity to promote values such as solidarity, mutual respect and unity among colleagues," he added.
The opening match pitted the team from the Roba zone against that of Rikiba and ended in a victory for Roba with a score of 2 goals to 1, at the end of a hard-fought match marked by good sportsmanship. The participating teams will compete throughout the tournament in a spirit of fair play, with the trophy of this second edition in their sights.
