Departing for the town of Sya, capital of the Hauts-Bassins region, the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE made a stopover in the rice-growing plain of Koho Yabiro (Commune of Houndé).

For the President of the Transition, it was a matter of encouraging and congratulating the producers and managers of the rice-growing plain for the work done. Covering an area of 54 hectares, the plain presents a satisfactory appearance.

As part of the presidential initiative for agriculture, producers in the Koho Yabiro plain have benefited from improved seeds, fertilizers and technical assistance for this campaign.

The plain has been developed since 2004 and is operated as part of the agricultural cooperation program between Burkina Faso and the Republic of China. The producers who work there expressed on the occasion, their gratitude to the Head of State for his new policy for the benefit of the rural world and the support of the Presidential Initiative for the wet countryside.
