Ouagadougou: As part of the Presidential Initiative for Health and on the instructions of the President of Burkina Faso, Comrade Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, the Army has mobilized its Central Directorate of the Armed Forces Health Service to deploy a mobile field hospital in Fada N'Gourma. This operation, running from July 12 to July 20, 2026, targets internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable populations in the Goulmou region, providing free medical care.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the field hospital is established at the city's Military Medical Center and includes four mobile clinic trucks equipped with two operating theaters, imaging units such as scanners and radiology, and biology labs. Air-conditioned tents are also available for consultations, hospitalizations, and pharmacy needs. Colonel Rigobert KIBA, Deputy Director of Medical Support for the Armed Forces, noted that various medical specialties, including general medicine, surgery, psychiatry, ophthalmology, and ENT, are part of this mission. The initiative aims not only to offer medical care but also to strengthen the bond between the Armed Forces and the Nation.

The initiative has been met with gratitude and relief from the local population. Yacouba Thiombiano, a schoolteacher, expressed his appreciation after receiving free treatment for himself and his son, Cedric, saying, "We received full treatment without spending a single franc. I thank the President of Burkina Faso for this initiative which brings military healthcare closer to the most vulnerable." Similarly, Moustapha TIENDREBEOGO, a retired baker, shared his satisfaction with the care provided, highlighting the on-site availability of scanning services and expressing gratitude to both the President and the Army.

In just the first two days since the deployment, the mobile field hospital has already treated numerous individuals, reflecting the success and necessity of this health initiative.
