The celebration of the Feast of the Assumption 2023 took place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in the enclosure of the "Bark Youmdé" prayer space in sector 10 of Ouahigouya, where the faithful Christians communed in resilience.

The great mobilization of the Christian faithful for the celebration of the feast of the Assumption did not take place this year 2023, at the Marian de Saye sanctuary, not far from the city for security constraints.

Never mind, thousands of daughters and sons of the Family of God Church of Ouahigouya after the procession with the statue of the Virgin Mary under a light rain marked their loyalty to the latter, on the occasion of her rise to heaven.

Father Simplice Kané, parish priest of Notre Dame de la Délivrande de Ouahigouya presided over the celebration which brought together all the faithful of the two parishes of the city and of the other closed parishes.

In union of prayers, the faithful for more than three clock hours praised the Lord and implored the Blessed Virgin Mary for the return of peace in the diocesan territory and in Burkina Faso.

On behalf of Mgr Justin Kientéga, Father Bishop of the diocese, Father Simplice Kané, during his homily urged the faithful to remain firm in their faith and be resilient before wishing them a happy feast.

Finally, he asked the Virgin Mary to flood her children with the graces of peace, joy and faith.
