Ouagadougou: At least 110,000 people mobilized on Saturday to denounce the "coup de force" by French President Emmanuel Macron.Gathered in Paris at the Place de la Bastille, at the call of La France Insoumise (LFI), the demonstrators carried banners and placards criticizing the head of state's refusal to appoint the candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP), Lucie Castets, to Matignon.Protesters also expressed anger at the appointment this week of right-wing politician Michel Barnier as prime minister.The Interior Ministry announced a total of 110,000 protesters, while La France Insoumise (LFI) claimed 300,000.Jean Luc Mélenchon, Mathilde Panot, president of the LFI group in the National Assembly, and the leader of the Communist Party Fabien Roussel were present at the demonstration in Paris.A procession in support of Palestine joined the demonstration.
