The Bam traders' office organized on April 3, 2024, a collective break at Kongoussi town hall which brought together Muslims, Christians and traditionalists. For the elected consular representative of Bam, Adama Ouédraogo, known as OA, it was all the traders who wanted this collective break. 'We, traders from Bam, have decided together to see how we can support our Muslim brothers during this month of fasting. This is how, unanimously, we opted for a collective break, hence this evening's ceremony,' he indicated. The spokesperson for the Muslims, Cheick Ousseni Sana, praised the initiative of the traders. For him, the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) adores those who support Muslims in fasting.'The Prophet said that anyone who gives a date nut or a glass of water to a fasting person to break will have the same blessings as the fasting person. In addition to this, we have our brothers of other faiths among us. God advised to accept each other and come closer.May they be rewarded for their efforts just like the tr aders,' said Cheick Sana.We noted the presence of representatives of Catholics, Father Michel Sawadogo, Protestants, and the heads of the cantons of Zitenga Naaba Tigré and Datenga Naaba Tigré.The High Commissioner of Bam, Adama Jean Yves Béré, who chaired the ceremony, congratulated the traders for their initiative which, in his opinion, contributes to strengthening social cohesion and living well together.Source: Burkina Information Agency
