Banwa: Teachers from the Solenzo 1 basic education district were trained this Friday in the application of mathematical problem-solving in CM1 and CM2 classes at the B¨houn municipal school. The CEB of Solenzo 1 organised a pedagogical day for the various school principals and the teachers in charge of the CM1 and CM2 classes in the solving of mathematical problems.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of the basic education district, Eustache Bicaba, stated that problem-solving is a significant challenge for some teachers and students in the classroom. "This day was organized to contribute to the success of problem-solving in mathematics in the classroom and also to help our students avoid low grades on assignments and school exams," he said.
Inspector Sibiri Boni's presentation enabled participants to learn about the different types of problems, the causes of student failures in problem-solving, and the solutions to remedy them. Sibiri Boni focused in his presentation on problem-solving strategies and methodologies.
After the presentation, discussions followed by practical exercises allowed participants to better understand problem-solving in mathematics in order to improve success rates in academic results.
