Gaoua: The governor of the Dj´r´ region, Siaka Barro, officially opened the region's first "Faso Yaar" shop in Gaoua this Thursday. This initiative aims to facilitate access to essential consumer goods for the population and to promote locally made products.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor of Dj´r´ stressed that the opening of the 'Faso Yaar' shop is part of the government's initiative to make essential goods available to the population, including sugar, oil, soap, and juices, at regulated prices. Mr. Barro believes this initiative will not only facilitate household supplies but also help regulate prices in the local market. He encouraged people to shop at the store while respecting the established quotas.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the government for its efforts in ensuring sufficient product availability, particularly during this period of fasting. He commended the implementation of the policy promoting local consumption, in line with the vision of the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, for the economic sovereignty of Burkina Faso.

According to the regional director of Industry, Trade and Crafts of Dj´r´, Souleymane Louada, every buyer must present themselves with a national identity card or a passport. 'Maximum quantities are set per type of product to allow as many people as possible to benefit. Businesses and associations can also obtain supplies through donations, as the products are intended for final consumption,' he explained.

The regional director was keen to clarify that the prices charged comply with the regulations in force in Burkina Faso. "Faso Yaar is not a sale at low prices, but a sale at a fair price," he insisted, reaffirming the authorities' commitment to reconciling product accessibility with respect for market regulation mechanisms.

A total of 82 tons of products were received to begin operations. The Gaoua site is currently the only one in the region. Management software has been implemented to register buyers, streamline operations, and ensure quota compliance. Two payment methods are available: mobile and cash. The products consist of soap in different formats, oil in 20-litre and 5-litre cans, sugar, and juices from the Dafani and Malia brands.
