Banwa: The High Commissioner Officially Launches National Tree Day in Solenzo


Banwa: High Commissioner Sanfienale Joseph Sirima officially launched the national tree day on Saturday by planting a vidtex doliana in the courtyard of the Solenzo prefecture in the presence of administrative, customary, and religious authorities.



According to Burkina Information Agency, following the launch, Comrade Sirima toured the various departments to observe the implementation of the patriotic initiative. He noted the planting of neem trees, mahogany trees, melinas, and various other plants.



Among the plants planted, the Solenzo special delegation was able to make 4,000 plants available to the population, thanks to collaboration with the Solenzo water and forestry service. Trees were planted in residential areas and in front of shops.



At the water and forestry service, those lagging behind continue to remove trees that will be replanted during the reforestation campaign which begins on June 27, 2026.
