Adissa Nabi from Burkina Faso Earns Master’s Degree with Highest Honors in Russia


Saratov: Adissa Nabi from Burkina Faso successfully defended her Master’s thesis in pedagogy at Saratov State University on June 10, 2026, in Saratov, Russia, obtaining the highest distinction in the Russian university system.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Nabi’s thesis focused on ‘The lexico-stylistic specificities of the construction of vegan identity (from a corpus in the English language)’. This distinction highlights several years of effort, perseverance, and research in the field of pedagogy. Before a university jury, the Burkinab¨ student presented her work, convincing the examiners of the scientific quality of her thesis.



Adissa Nabi arrived in Russia in January 2024 to pursue her higher education, completing her studies without a scholarship. She shared that the initial period was challenging. “At first, it was very complicated. I didn’t understand the lessons well. Then, I fully committed myself to keeping up. I was the only African in my class enrolled in a Master’s level program in education,” she confided.



For Nabi, this achievement is a source of pride and satisfaction. She expressed gratitude to God, her parents, friends, and the Burkinabe authorities for their support throughout her studies. “This is a tremendous joy for me. Despite my black skin, I have not experienced any acts of racism. I thank everyone who supported me during this academic adventure,” she added.



Her performance was praised by her parents, friends, and acquaintances, who regard her as a model of determination, resilience, and excellence for Burkinabe youth.
