Ouagadougou: The Barogo Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) in the municipality of Saaba received a new maternity ward on Friday, July 17. The building, constructed by EXPERTIS SA at a cost of 30 million CFA francs, was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by administrative and health authorities, company representatives, and members of the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the construction of the maternity ward in Barogo is part of EXPERTIS SA’s corporate social responsibility policy. The company’s Managing Director, Zalissa Koumar©/Ouillio, stated that this project reflects the organization’s commitment to community development, emphasizing the importance of community and family behind every infrastructure.

The new facility is equipped with a vaccination room, a family planning room, a malnutrition treatment room, a reception area for victims of gender-based violence, a delivery room, and an office for the head of the maternity ward. It aims to enhance the working environment for healthcare staff and improve the quality of care for patients.

Representing the regional health director, Marigu©tou To©/Compaor© commended the infrastructure’s contribution to strengthening maternal and child health care, highlighting the ongoing priority of combating maternal and neonatal mortality for the Burkinabe government. She encouraged other businesses to emulate this example.

On behalf of the municipality of Saaba, Fatimata Tarama/Idani expressed gratitude to EXPERTIS SA and urged the community to maintain this new facility. Traditional leaders also praised the initiative and offered blessings for the company.

The inauguration ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting, tree planting, and distribution of kits to newborns, marking the beginning of a new era for healthcare in the region.
